It's aged, but runs on charm

This game back in the day would of scared your pants off. Now on the other hand you laugh at it, but not because it's bad. Because it's aged. But it still has that PS1/Saturn era charm to it.

The story is basic with a nice twist at the end and it's not too forgettable. Speaking of story you have two characters to choose from Chris Refield and Jill Valentine. Chris is harder to use since Jill has 2 extra item slots (total of 8) and can unlock doors and drawers that Chris must find keys for. On the other hand Chris does have more health. Depending on how you choose effects the begining and towards the end but I wont spoil that for you. Controls are simple and unlike most games you can't run into enemies head on (coughresidentevil5&6cough) as you will end up dead. The game is fairly challenging due to tough enemies and a lot of puzzles to solve, back tracking to find keys, weapons, disks and the like. Over all you'll find yourself keep playing to find out what happens next. Now if you want it to be really scary I would direct you in the way of Resident Evil Remake on the GameCube or Wii as they have much better graphics and are less cheesy than this.

If you want to relive the golden age of survival horror I can't recommend this enough.
