Nothing but a cash and grab with poor gameplay control with lazy visuals and animation

For the price, I've paid which was a £1 I'm glad I've paid that price for a disappointing game especially if it's from the Resident Evil franchise, stopped caring about the Resident Evil series after finding Resident Evil 5 a disappointment on day one release. As I look at Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City the cinematic trailer we saw back in 2011 brought a lot of hype and making a reason why we should check it out, the way it was going it felt more of a survival game set in Raccoon City.

But upon release and everyone have been playing Operation Raccoon City just left me scratching my head my head thinking did that really happen? The story takes places during the events when the outbreak strikes Raccoon City and a group of Umbrella's Elite Delta Team has been sent to retrieve the G-Virus from William Birkin but if you've played the games you'll know what'll happen next; soon after hell breaks loose in Raccoon City and your team has been tasked to destroy all evidence under Umbrella and yes you'll be encountering other characters and monsters from both Resident Evil 2 and 3 when looking at the concept and story doesn't feel that it fits the story setting especially if you've played both Resident Evil 2 and 3 knowing the story very well, this feels more like fan-fiction work. The characters you can play as in Delta Team don't really have any personality but each of them will have a different set of skills, abilities and their own weapons.

Gameplay is in third-person perspective but this is where most of the game falls apart with its broken controls whichever gun you are using against monsters or zombies it's going to take more bullets to take one out especially when you try to aim for the head. I can see why it's trying to be more like an actual Resident Evil game when it comes to gameplay but when you have multiple enemies coming at you at once attacking you and your team it makes it harder to move around. You can use grenades and healing items as well but most of the problems can be found when playing the game offline and doesn't offer co-op up to two - four players. Certain moments through the entire there can be some frustrating moments either on easy or hard mode you'll some parts of the level a little frustrating to get pass but if you manage to play the game online with a few players it can be more fun. I've found half of my time playing Operation Raccoon City online quite fun since you are working as a team and getting through the level in one piece.

The poor designs and visuals don't really hold up for a game that was released in 2012 I found Operation Raccoon City feel more like a late PS2 title or even as a game that could have been released in 2007 when you compare the graphics and visuals to this and with a popular game on the PlayStation 3 there is a massive difference on visuals and designs. The camera control can feel shaky but the animation and character designs look badly done where neither Slant Six Games or Capcom didn't really care about it all and just focused on the brand name and trying to sell the game to the public making it feel rushed. I do like the idea that it's more of a SOCOM game encouraging players to play as a team but the whole thing just ends up badly. The multiplayer matches can be enjoyable if you are with a group of friends or with a group of people that still play this game online where you'll have quick matches on Team Deathmatch, Biohazard Mode where you must get the G-Virus back to your base so think of capture the flag on that mode; but there's also Survivors Mode where you must stay alive long as possible and Heroes mode where you can play as your favourite heroes and villains from the Resident Evil franchise.

It tries hard to be a good co-operative game when it comes to offline but if you are still curious in checking this game isn't really worth it unless you see it at a very cheap price but by the time you've finished the short campaign mode and got most of the trophies for Operation Raccoon City there isn't really else much to see and do unless you still want to play online with other players but if you are a Resident Evil fan you are going to feel a little disappointed on the laziness that went into this game.
