Fan or not, Resident Evil 5 is a game that shouldn't be missed.
I played RE1,RE2,RE3,RE4 and after I completed 4 for about 70 times, I remember myself counting days,months and years waiting for RE5.
My review contains 7 crucial sequences: graphics,story,gameplay,sound,replay value,overall opinion and just for RE5 one special sequence called ''comparison of RE5 with old Res Evil games''.
GRAPHICS: from the opening scenes of RE5 you can tell that this game really is next-gen.everything looks awesome,terrific,clear and sharp. a lot of attention was payed to little details such as when you come out from a dark room into the daylight, you can see how your character's eyes slowly adapt to bright light and sun reflection.facial animations are top notch and just when you look at the character's face you can tell how they feel.environments are cool and different.they're pretty well designed and they help tension to grow.
water effects are great as well.I noticed that RE5(in my opinion) has the best fire effects and explosions ever in a game. both of them looks ultra-realistic.

STORY:well, RE5 doesn't have strong and deep story as previous installments.I'm not saying that RE5 has bad story, but it isn't a story we all expect from Res Evil game.I don't want to spoil anything saying further.

GAMEPLAY:basically,the gameplay of RE5 is very,very similiar to RE4's gameplay.only this time CAPCOM has refined and retuned it.
it is over-the-shoulder aiming system and most of your weapons have laser sights.great thing is that you can do some real damage with your physical attacks which depend of where you shoot your enemy. one bad move CAPCOM has made is co-op. i mean co-op is great when you play online, but for single player it just ruins the fear factor and makes game way too easy.your partner has poor AI and sheva mostly just waste ammo and herbs.
sometimes she can be very annoying.other things are good.

SOUND: sound is indeed superb.each weapon sounds realistic and good, and it'll make you think someone is shooting in front of you. in RE5 there are loads of guns and each of them sounds realistic and unique.
the sounds of enemies will make you nervous and they'll even scare you.
voices of chris,wesker and jill are perfect. but sheva and josh are voiced poorly and they ruin the game's perfect sound.

REPLAY VALUE:if you're looking for a game with plenty of collectibles and things to unlock - RE5 is the game for you.
the main story will take you solid 13-14 hours to complete, and when you're done, you just then realize that you have just scratch the surface. after finishing the game on veteran difficulty you'll unlock super-hard proffesional mode.in RE5 you can upgrade your guns and after you completely upgrade a certain gun you unlock another one.in RE5 you must find and shoot all 30 well-hidden BSAA emblems,complete each chapter wit S rank on every difficulty,purchase all extras and figures,find all the treasures,buy every weapon and upgrade it to get the platinum.
in addition,there's an awesome mini-game, the mercenaries, which will keep you occupied for hours and hours and it's so cool to play online or off.

OVERALL OPINION: just because RE is my fav game , I won't be too subjective.it is a game that should be played,whether you're a fan or not.what else can i say?if u don't own it you should.now RE5 gold is released and if you're trying to find a decent game,RE5 is great deal.

And now COMPARISON OF RE5 WITH OLD RE GAMES:
at the very beginning you shouldn't expect scary,dark and creepy game like first 3 res evils.
RE5 isn't a Resident Evil game as we know it. old games were so original and so scary. I remember myself playing RE2 for the first time and when i saw and heard licker I was like I'm going to crap my pants!there are no zombies and creepy monsters. there's no gloomy, creepy music,there are no hard puzzles,ammo can be found everywhere,powerful guns are too easy to get,you won't be jumping of your seat like you did when that dog jumped through the window, no shivers will be coming down your spine...
RE5 isn't like old RE games at all. it is more of an action game now, and i believe CAPCOM must make next one more like the old ones.
