User Rating: 9.4 | Resident Evil 4 PS2
The Resident Evil series is a profound series with a lot of great games, but none of them have had that something that makes them incredible. Resident Evil 4 has broken the path of it's predecessors and emerged as one of the greatest games of all time. What can be said about RE4 that hasn't already been said, I'll try.

Resident Evil isn't a game for the faint of heart, if you tend to get scared you can pack up your bags now and leave this one to the big boys. As Leon Kennedy your objective is to rescue a young girl who has been kidnapped by a terrorist organization. This group isn't what you would expect, as their leader is a man who uses mind altering bacteria to control his subjects. You will have to kill his zombies, save the president's daughter, and get out of there before you become one of them too. Don't let your guard down, there is most likely a surprise behind every corner. You will take a long adventure through a small European village. Your adventure will take you on random places where you will encounter run-ins with giants, sea monsters, and crazy midgets. These boss fights are incredible, they require a lot of skill and precision, you must use your environment and your ammunition wisely. RE4 takes you into a very in depth, the amount of enemies you have to take out in a short period of time might startle some, but the game is too addicting to put down. Firing the weapons at first is quite different from any other shooter you may have played, it is strange but becomes accustomed as you progress. The only flaw I see in the game is after a while getting to your next boss is quite repetitive, there isn't much change in the enemies, although there are many different ones, killing them is basically the same.

The graphics in RE4 are amazing, but they just don't seem to match up to the ones on the GameCube, which are possibly the best I've seen on a GC, while the difference is minor. The graphics on the PS2 also deserve a 10. The sound is very good, there isn't very many dramatic songs during the climactic moments, but it always presents sounds of fear and creepy music, that blend very well with the action of the game. This game is awesome, with a long 16 hours or more of gameplay. Although I can't see myself playing this game over and over. The additions of the Agent Ada Wong missions on the PS2 are a nice, but these scenes just aren't that exciting in my opinion. If you are looking for the best action/adventure/shooter out there, look no further you've found him.
