Very disappointing. Sword movements are improved over original, but lack of story makes this game hard to like

User Rating: 7 | Red Steel 2 WII
I am going to buck the tide here and say that I enjoyed the first Red Steel infinitely more than the sequel. Granted, swordplay is improved with the motionplus but everything else, especially storyline is sorely lacking.

The good:

Swordplay is improved with the motionplus and that is the only reason I gave it a 7 rather than a 6.0.

Graphics are good for a Wii game.

Thats about it for the good.

The bad:

No storyline whatsoever. Just one boring mission after another. That, along with some of the worst voice acting I have heard in a major game. The game is set in a western/desert town. Who's idea was that?? Anyhow, guess that doesn't matter because you are not getting a story with this anyway.

Another major downside of the game is gunplay. The original was much more balanced between sword and gunplay.

Bottomline, if you were expecting an improved Red Steel, it is a totally different game. If you enjoy hokey background, settings, and very hokey voice acting, just swinging a sword, this game is for you.
