Quite fun at the beginning, but get's very, very repetitive. Nice visuals, great characters, but story is dull.

John Marston is a great character. The way he talk, choices he make it all is very believable. It's a shame that Rockstar putted him in such uninspiring story.

More or less the story goes like this: There is a bad guy and a good guy, and a good one for various, very stupid reasons cannot find/catch/kill the bad one. it goes on and on for like half of gameplay time. At the beginning it's ok cause that's what's usually happens in games, but after forth time you "almost got him" you are staring to think "what the hell?". And always when you just missed the bad guy some new character is coming along with the story of his life and missions you have to help him with in order to progress. Not very innovative. So after few missions you know what to expect: bad guy (or someone who can help you find him) is either dead or killed or in another town, so you have to go somewhere, kill someone. Also every time you are going somewhere there are those "story of my life" conversations during which there is not much to do. First few of such conversation are cool, but after like 20 of those you just wish Rockstar got a better idea...

World of RDR is huge, and beautiful. There's a lot of animals, and distinguish locations. It's a shame thou that sometimes it take so much time to get to some places (specially when, by accident, you killed taxi driver). But for people who like Dark Souls-like games this will not be an issue.

Game, generally, is very easy. I do not recall have any problems with main nor side missions. The most dangerous in this game where bears and cougars, not people. This is also serious issue for me. Why would anybody like to play game where difficulty is so painfully low? John was a very hard to kill and bandits was very easy to kill. There was very few missions where you actually needed to take cover, and always bad guys where coming from one direction so you never had to worry about strategy. There also was only one type of enemies which I find... Well... Strange. Specially that this game got 9.5 from most of reviewers. There is nothing 9.5/10 about always shooting guys in a head.

Other thing is how this game ends (easy I will not revile the end) . Come one Rockstar! Was it really that hard to think of something better than catching horses, searching for wolfs, killing crows... I get it. I know. You wanted to establish how good father John is and how great husband, but why it has to last for more than two last hours of gameplay? Specially when all of those activities was already performed during the game. It was straight forward boring. I'm trying to play games that are not boring, usually I select games pretty carefully cause I don't have that much time to play. So when I'm playing 9.5/10 game I expect it to be anything but boring. But last hours of RDR... I'm sorry but I even skipped some cutscenes. I do like games that are trying to show inside of main character, but this was not a good way to do it.

This game have too many issues. Technically game is almost perfect: very few bugs, great visuals, nice music etc. Issues here are story - dull and very not inspiring, difficulty - game is so easy it's actually hurts, repetitive missions - same thing on and on..., very not-interesting long conversations during long way to short gunfight - Some times your way to destination is longer than what is actually happening there.

I will not recommend this game. It's not horrible but at it's best it's 7/10
