It's cowboys VS. zombies! Undead Nightmare is a great addition to the Red Dead Redemption story!

Okay, so first off I am a huge Red Dead Redemption fan. When I first heard they were making an expansion with zombies, I was very critical. I really didn't want the story to be ruined by adding zombies to it, something that seems to be in every video game today.

But, it seems Rockstar didn't disappoint in Red Dead Redemption's Undead Nightmare. So, here is my review...

"John Marston is alone in the world, to save his family this time he must find an antidote to the horrors that threaten the existence of humanity. Towns and settlements are under attack from hordes of undead, with small, isolated pockets of human survivors huddling together for protection. John must rescue survivors and try to turn the tide against the onslaught from beyond the grave if there is to be any hope. Ammunition is at an absolute premium. As the undead plague takes over the land, there is no more game to shoot and besides, every last bullet needs to be saved to fight the undead encroaching on the last bastions of human sanctuary.

But what is the source of this hellish blanket of destruction and how can it be reversed? Rumors abound among the cowering survivors, and John must choose who to believe. Trapped in this living nightmare, John Marston must travel far and wide in search of an answer."

The story of Red Dead Redemption's Undead Nightmare is a little bit more Fantasy like than the original. Though it's a very good one, with great action, comedy, and suspense. I was very pleased with the story. You will run into quite a few friends from the original game.

The gameplay in Undead Nightmare has gotten somewhat harder, with very low chances of finding ammunition. There are four different types of zombies, each one having a different ability. Some are faster than other, some stronger, and sometimes both. There also some that have powers to shoot you.

There are also some side missions here in Undead Nightmare. Unlike in Red Dead Redemption however, these side missions are know as survivor missions. Some of these include returning missing persons to safe zones, clearing out graveyards, or collecting supplies for people.

Also, now spread across the map are different territories that are under attack from the undead hordes, and they need you're help. You can travel to these places and assist the survivors with supplying ammunition and start shooting yourself some zombies. After a territory has been cleared you can then save you're game, and get ammo there. But, if you leave that territory for too long, it becomes under attack again. If you do not assist the survivors again, the town will be overrun, all survivors will die, and the town will become lost.

There are also challenges in Undead Nightmare as well. When a player reaches Rank 5 of all challenges, you then get to hunt Bigfoot, as well as the Chupacarbra. After you complete a few story missions, you will also unlock one of the four horses of the Apocalypse. I thought that was very cool. After reaching Rank 5 in the Undead challenges, and finding and killing the Chupacabra, you then are rewarded with an Undead Hunter outfit, as well as they mythical Unicorn.

After completing Undead Nightmare's story, you then are free to play as a undead version of John Marston.

Thank you for reading!
