First Rayman Game I Played; Not Very Impressed Here...

I've never played the original version of this game which came out in 1998, so I'm not familiar with how the N64 version panned out, but when I played the 2005 remaster on the DS, there's a lot worth complaining about. The main issue I have with this game is the camera. You can never situate the camera properly to get a good view of the action, let alone trying to jump fom platform to platform and helicoptering your way down to the right platform, so you can expect some cheap deaths along the way. The frame rate makes me want to hurl. It can go from inconsistent to downright apalling. You'll constantly see swimming textures and tons of hitches with the frame rate. On a good note, I find the dialogue amusing, the story kind of decent, and the fact that there's loads todo in the game. Overall, I wouldn't reccomend the 2005 DS version of Rayman because of the annoying camera and constant issues with the frame rate, so this is one Rayman game that isn't really worth keeping.
