not the best ratchet and clank game

In case my constant ranting hasn't made it obvious enough, I am a pathological fan of the Ratchet & Clank series. However, this one leaves a lot to be desired. I understand that this was just an attempt to keep the fans at bay and disguise the fact that the next REAL release in the series needs two years for development, but I didn't enjoy this one nearly as much as I feel I should have. The gameplay has been slightly bogged down, and feels a bit separate from the rest of the series. For example, there are less than ten weapons in the game, all of which premiered in ToD. Ratchet still controls phenomenally, make no mistake, but it just doesn't feel as good without Clank. Also, it ends with a cliffhanger just like Tools of Destruction did, which makes me really look forward to CiT more than anything else. The graphics and sound are still fantastic, with this being arguably the best-looking game in the series and having a very fitting musical score. The fact still remains, however, that this game is just not the best you'll see in this incredible series. Oh well, at least it's better than Size Matters for the PS2.
