Doesn't feel like Ratchet & Clank

Well, I knew going into this that it was going to be short, which felt wrong, but in this particular case it felt amazingly wrong. I was one of those people who felt like the last Ratchet & Clank (the first for PS3) was very pretty but lacked the soul of previous games or the feeling of wow beyond shiny new graphics. I also felt it was short at roughly 20 hours, so now you've got a 3-4 hour version (3 is what you can expect if you've ever played one of these before and you're sober). They seem to have fixed some graphical bugs, for instance rocks aren't as often shiny like glass. The platforming is more prevalent in this title, which is fine, but it feels forced somehow, level design seems to be screaming, you have to be platforming here for no reason other than we had it in our work order to make more platforming. I dunno, I'm somewhat underwhelmed, I also kind of resent the whole episodic nature of this, to me, episodic content is another way of saying nickle and dime. I really hope they turn around the dire state of Ratchet & Clank on the next major release, I was reading there's a full length game coming out in 2009. Hopefully it will e longer than 20 hours, the weapons will feel back to their usual badassed selfs, environments will be more destructible and enemies will swarm a little more (enemies have never been very challening in these games so a lot of their difficulty comes from mobs, which I haven't seen at the level you would expect of the amazing PS3 with it's overpowering cell processor).
