Not the best of Tim Shafers creations, but it is definetally up there.

I love Tim Shafers games. From Monkey Island to Grim fandango. This departure from the typical adventure game is well done, and at times draws you in with its unique locations and terrific dialog. The graphics are very distinctive and stylaized and offers a great deal of variety in terms of scenery. The only negatives I have are this. The weakness in the genre... platformer. I found myself doing many of the same things over and over again. Run jump, swing bounce collect stuff. The camera control is also pretty annoying since you have to manually adjust it much of the time. Besides that it is a brilliant work that most games should be aspiring to in terms of dialoge and interesting characters. Give it a try, or at least a rent, it is a fun worthwile game... if just to look at the interesting places and talk ot engrossing characters.
