It's not like you are required to upgrade a PC (I upgrade a few parts once a year, which costs maybe $200/year, as opposed to like $450 every 3 years) and wtf are you thinking consoles do? Magically upgrade themselves? NO, they get old and sh***y and outdated and you have to buy a new one, and new accessories and games and so forth. A PC you can tweak to perfection (and to your needs), and a mouse is always superior to a controller for FPS's and the graphics are better on PC. So, PC's win.

I'm running an 8800gt stock clocks, core 2 duo 2.2ghz, 2gb ram and I'm playing 1280*1024, ultra settings, ~30+ fps. "Are the RAM settings backwards? 3GB worse than 1GB" Just about to say the same things.
