My personal opinion is when you buy a new console you are already looking forward to the new games that really show your new system can do. When i bought a new console and i already had a pile of games from the prior version, it always ended up that i stopped playing the "old" games. New games which look nicer and play even better its all you want with a new console, right?
The very first game i really enjoyed on the NES was "Super Mario Bros 1" and especially "Kid Icarus". "The Legend of Zelda" and "Metroid" where too of my favourites along with "Duck Hunt", "Bionic Commando", "Castlevania", "Gradius" and "Metal Gear".
