I'm nearing my annual PC upgrade, and this year I may upgrade more components than I normally do.
Currently I am running: AMD Phenom II X4 @ 2.8ghz oc'ed to 3.2ghz (AM2+), Asus M4A78 Plus Mobo, WD Raptor 150gb (OS and games only), Geforce GTX 260 896mb, 4gb DDR2 1066, 3 500gb WD Black drives (storage, media, etc), Win7 Home Premium 64 bit.
I know I need to upgrade the cpu to an AM3 and the mobo to support DDR3 ram. The hdd's I'm ok with for now, still want ssd's to drop in price more before I make that jump. And that leaves the gfx card. I think I'm gonna go with a Radeon this time, one of the new 6000 series.
I'm thinking AMD Phenom II X4 2.8 AM3 (I can easily OC it to 3.2-3.4 if needed). I'm split on mobo's though. I like and know Asus, but have seen some deals on some Gigabytes, ASRocks, and Msi's. Anyone have input on the latter 3?
Not sure which Radeon yet...probably the 6850.
And 4-6 gigs of DDR3 1333....either G.Skill or Crucial...
So...thoughts? Opinions? Suggestions?
Thanks,
Russ
