i have my ps3 hooked up to my computer monitor an HP w1907. i read the sound wont transfer through the hdmi to dvi cord. so can someone tell me how i can get some sound...please. i have altec lansing speakers hooked up to my pc. is there anyway of getting the sound through them? and how? if not is there any other way...i am desperate being xmas and my boys wanna play with sound and not on our archaic tv. thanks for any help. :D

i bought a ps3 40 g and am trying to get it hooked up to my pc monitor. i got the hdmi to dvi cord but i just plugged it in and turned on the ps3 but i am not getting a picture to come up. i hope someone can help me with this on xmas morning. does it matter that the monitor is still hooked up to the pc?
