i think a lot of people that agree with this kind of strategy don't understand... it's not GameStop that will be paying for these royalties. ultimately it is the consumer that will be paying for them.

@Lhomity @Madjik2k2 all of your examples that i have read so far are false. the reason that a consumer does not buy the game new in the first place is because either 1) the consumer does not feel the product has value at the new cost or 2) the consumer simply can not afford it at the new cost. this means that consumer was NEVER in the market to buy the game new.

@Lhomity @staticdash22 this sounds like a problem that would sort itself out. the retailers will sell what the can as long as demand from the consumer is supporting them.

@Lhomity @Dudeinthechair first of all, you could say the longevity of a car is greater than a 3 hour game. so the week old argument needs some tweaking. you can often go to a dealership and find a used car with around 10k miles on it and only a few months old, so yes people do buy new cars and then get rid of them.

@St0Ne4Ge @unitea one last point, the royalty of selling your one game to a friend would be quite small, yet you still balked at paying your "fair" share. for some reason you think you have to make millions of dollars to required to pay other people money, which is illogical. so... as long as YOU aren't directly effected, everything is fine right?

@St0Ne4Ge @unitea btw, you don't have to capitulate with their wishes just to get them to leave you alone. you could always show them centuries of history to back up the position of the consumer and the used retailer.

@St0Ne4Ge @unitea "if, if, if...". if you had any experience with what you are talking about, maybe more people would take your comments more seriously.

@St0Ne4Ge then it would only be fair if you sell a game of yours to a friend that you should then pay the developers the same royalty.
