I wouldn't bother blaming Nintendo. There haven't really been any reports of freezing that I've seen. It might just be my console internally. Millions of people have this game on both Wii U and Switch, and I haven't seen any other reports out there besides mine. I'm sure select people have their problems though like mine.

I played it today again for like 40 minutes before it froze.

Do you guys think it could potentially fix the issue if I just buy it digitally? At this point I'm sick of the freezing, and if I don't get a call from the store for another copy that comes in soon, then I might just buy it again full price.

I mean, if it's the Wii U internally or the disc drive, digitally might fix it. But if it's a problem with dusty fans or something then digital might not fix it. I'll try to get a can of compressed air soon and see what happens.

Yeah, I know. That's what I meant. Obviously I wouldn't use an air compressor on a delicate Wii U console. Sorry for the confusion!

It lasted like 3 hours and froze again, so not too bad? I don't know. I almost thought I solved the issue. I was screwing around in Kakariko Village.

I don't have an air compressor, but I decided to half ass your idea. So, I blew as hard as I could into the disc slot as if it was a NES cartridge. The game has worked for over 2 hours so far without freezing. I'm not convinced this resolved the issue, but it's promising. I'm still expecting the worst and being pessimistic.

Has there been any reports on freezing issues for this game on the Wii U? I haven't heard about any.

For me, it froze 3 times within an hour. Had to turn off the console each time and restart. Glad that it autosaves.

After going back to EB Games to try and get another disc, they have nothing left in my area. So, I went back home and deleted the update file to reinstall it. This time, I played for an hour before it froze again. I guess that's progress?

Well, I'm still going to get a new disc when they call me and see if that changes anything. This really sucks. I know all of you guys are having a blast with the game, and so was I, but this is unfortunate for me. I'm not sure I have the drive to keep playing if it's going to just freeze on me every so often. Not sure if it's a disc issue, or my Wii U issue.

Whatever the case, I think I might just hold off until I get a new disc and stick to Horizon: Zero Dawn on PS4. I was having a lot of fun with that game before I bought Zelda. I love Zelda....and this just blows. Maybe I'll load it up again later and see how long it lasts before freezing again.

Edit: I just tried it again while sitting at the computer, playing it on the GamePad. It lasted 30 seconds before it did it again. **** me.

Playing Horizon right now, so there's that off the list. Love the game. Hype has been somewhat calmed down as I've been cured by playing it. :)

Then Zelda is on Friday, so there's another hugely anticipated game for me, as well as obviously many others. Can't wait for that.

Mass Effect is the next one I've been waiting for. Then Red Dead when that comes. I'm not sure what else, but I know I'll be getting many others.

Man, it's crazy how Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Mass Effect: Andromeda, and basically Horizon: Zero Dawn all come out in March. I know Horizon was in February technically, but I mean, it's 3 days apart from Zelda. All 3 games I'm getting and they're all so closely released together.

The first trader you get to, you trade the tokens in to him. He's that first guy who lives a little off from the little town. Not long after you're playing as an adult.

Basically your mentor who adopted you trains you a bunch. You fall into some underground ruins, find some ear piece thingamajiggy that's tech from many years ago, and it is a device that tracks the robots movements, scans things, etc.

You didn't miss a ton.

I bought this game day one, and have had a lot of fun with it. It's about what I expected it to be. Not blowing me away, but I'm having a great time. It's a cool game.
