Vita compatible, then YAY! I'm all for it... just another arcade game bogging down my PS3 harddrive... then I'll enthusiastically pass. There is NO reason arcade classic PSN games cannot be made PSVita compatible, other than lazy programmers.

@adroge1 Not that far off... I've seen polls, studies, and other "evidence" that supports your findings... such as the following (exact numbers may be off by one or two, as I'm citing memory) the percentage of american people who couldn't find the USA on a map was in the 60's. The percentage of Americans who pee in the shower was in the 70's. The percentage of American's who believe the bible to be the absolute, unquestionable word of God, but have never read it cover to cover? ... 92%... Yup... Ain't that America... little pink houses, for you and me...

So, according to professional politicians in Little California ... errr I mean Connecticut, one of my fond memories with my older son, putting a ton of tokens into the Jurassic Park shooting game at Chuck-E-Cheese, and playing it til we beat it (approx $20 worth of tokens... my son was 7 at the time, and a fairly bad aim)... would be criminal activity?? REALLY? So you'll tell parents how what games their kids can enjoy, tell parents what foods to feed their kids, and tell parents what school their kid has to go to, that's ok, too? right? What role do parents have, exactly, in raising their kids? Are parents now just government liaisons, there when the government can't be? Thank God, Krishna, Zeus, Odin, and Jerry Seinfeld for a few intelligent, rational lawyers on the ACLU who aren't bought and paid for by the various political machines, and are willing to stick their necks out against big government control and preserve human rights for HUMANS.

@SkamArtist @Suikogaiden Other than covering up questionable activities by party underlings, Nixon wasn't that bad... he was very popular, and politically strong... Hoover, was trouble, but not nearly as bad as Franklin D. Roosevelt, whom I still believe was one of the worst Presidents ever. GWB was no worse than Lincoln with ignoring the constitution and doing whatever he felt he needed to do (Yes, Lincoln gave the constitution, democracy, and freedom of the press a big "F-U" several times)... Is Obama perfect? No. Is he Satan-reborn? No. It's not the President that makes the country succeed or fail, BUSINESSES ran buy people who OWN the politicians make the country succeed or fail. We're just going along for the ride.

Also, other than the Vita/PS4 connection, I thought the PS4 presentation was a MAJOR fail. The average gamer doesn't care about RAM. Doesn't care about teraflops of computing. All the technobabble, and then a few CGI cutscenes from games that aren't the major franchises (Killzone is close to a major franchise, but not quite there). Capcom had a chance to save it, but then showed some stupidly ridiculous knight thing. And what was with showing the old man for emotions? I couldn't see ANY emotion in that face. He looked like he just had a stroke. VERY Poor conference overall.

And Sony set the mood poorly too, by gifting random people $10 in the PSN store then thanking those people for their loyalty, but totally ignoring people who have spent hundreds in the PSN store, who have been registered as members since 2007. Sony pissed a LOT of people off, and sent them to the calming, loving embrace of Microsoft.

What's wrong with kid-friendly minigames? I think that's an untapped audience for Sony, that they should try to get a piece of the action. I know MANY families that want a PS3 to unclutter their livingrooms (wii for gaming, roku for streaming, blu ray player for movies) but went with the wii because it has games for kids, whereas the PS3 only has Ratchet and Sly Cooper. Two games does not a family system make.

Alien Trilogy on PS1 and Saturn was one of the scariest games ever. The Atmosphere in that game was up there with Resident Evil (1), Dead Space, and some of the other creepiest games.

I was a teen when that game came out, and remember playing it in a darkened room. No music. No sound, except the ping... ping... ping... of the sonar... Heart racing, palms sweating... Then aliens would come charging, and it was the ultimate "OH SH**!" moments.

Once I was totally immersed in the game, and my father snuck up behind me and touched my shoulder, and I jumped and shrieked and I think I lost 4 years of my life from the scare...

Also, the old Arcade Aliens game was awesome. It was sorta like Contra.

This article needs to be retitled "Why MODERN Aliens games never live up to expectations"

@dsvsdvsv @flyersfan87 Really? how am I dumb? By being smarter than you? LOL I'd be SAVING $100 dollars or so. If the system, without subscription, is $500, but with subscription is $399, and either way, to get all the features will require the full PSN+ subscription (sony already says they are looking into new models for their online program for the ps4)... how am I spending more if I'd be doing the 2 yr subscription either way? The program also works well for Microsoft for the $99 xbox360.

$500 PS4 (no sub)+ 2yrs of $49 sub to unlock full potential= $600

$500 PS4-$100 for signing up for subscription for 2 years+$2 years of PS+ @ $49 = $500... a savings of $100.

@decoy1978 I don't see under $300 being viable, but definitely under $400. A basic system with a 140GB HD for $399, and let me upgrade the HD to 1TB for $70 on newegg... Bought at launch. Force me to pay $530, and I'll wait or go Xbox..
