I have no doubt that pro-gaming will one day take off in this country but there is just so little known about it even amongst us gamers as made apparent by many of the posters below. As to the question on whether pro-gaming is a sport... IMHO no but unlike poker, ten pin bowling and other nontraditional but professional competitive activities, pro gaming doesn't have the legitimacy that it deserves in this country. Gaming in general doesn't have the acceptance that it should. Weird thing that. I suppose I can only see things changing once the generation that have grown up playing games mature and begin taking over key positions in government, media and enterprise which are the main contributors to shaping Australia's public perception of gaming. I mean, we don't even have an R18+ rating for games yet and we want the public to idolise or even just accept grown adults making a living playing games... Not gonna happen. Also, why don't the pro gaming tournaments get coverage by influential gaming sites like gamespot? I don't know for sure it they do or not but I have never seen anything in relation to these tournaments other than this article. Now that would be worth tuning in for.

@csliney: This generation the PS3 is the most complete package out of the box. And what hidden costs are you referring to? The hdd upgrade/downgrade mentioned in this article is totally optional. The 360, although I love mine, has the MOST hidden costs. You gotta pay for wi-fi, Live, replacement batteries or play and charge for controllers, M$ points etc etc, you even hafto pay to change your gamertag... should I go on? Plus, the PS3 games catalog will eventually catch up. The 360 had over a year's head start on Sony's machine. People seem to forget that.
