only an idiot would think that borrowing games is as bad as piracy. even piracy isn't as bad as they say (see the number of games sold each year, and companies are bigger than ever, even DRM-free games sell very well). people who pirate games will never buy games anyway.

corporations sell their arguments through marketing and repetition and people buy it. especially americans, i don't think anyone else in the world is as adamant in protecting the corporate interests to the point of hurting their own interests. not all people, but I've seen a LOT more than I'd think it could be possible.

Physical for consoles, I love digital games on my PC and prefer them that way but ONLY because they're so incredibly cheap. No way I'm gonna pay full retail for a digital non borrowable game in consoles. That would be idiotic.

[QUOTE="Jonwh18"]

Is there really a difference between spending $400 and $500 on gaming console?

Yeah. A $100 difference. :|

ShoTTyMcNaDeS

Funny guy! That is not what I meant. What I am getting at here is that I just dont see how anyone on the one hand can drop $400 for one console and then on the other hand say that the other one for $100 more is too expensive!

if you actually had to work for the money, you would see the idiocy of this question.

if there is no DRM, there is no reason to not go physical. being able to borrow games from friends (or trading them anywhere) is a huge benefit. and i say this as a digital fan, but there are more chances of borrowing games from fiends who have a console than a computer.

Link: http://www.reddit.com/r/gaming/comments/1ge8fu/microsoft_gestapo_interrogate_whistleblowing/ sorry if old

I don't regularly post here, I'm more of a lurker. I was reading this post on reddit and it's very interesting, especially the part that says:

"The Internet may be abuzz with anti-Xbox posts right now, but it will be a matter of weeks before that has changed completely. They will post so many positive comments from 'regular folks' that the media narrative about the console will change. Numerous bloggers will suddenly change their tune and start supporting the console.

Worst of all, people who ask serious questions about the console's security and functionality will be ridiculed."

Anyway, what do you think of it all? I owned an Xbox and an Xbox 360, but am definitely NOT planning on buying the One. In my opinion it's so anti-consumer it's ridiculous.

Cows seem to want everyone to forget how strong MS's conference was...

COVAtheNOVA

Conference was strong game wise, but they failed everywhere else. Sony failed pretty much throughout the conference until they got to the Used Game/DRM/Price.

And then after the conference, it was announced by Sony, just like it was announced by MS before E3, that it will be up to the publisher/developer when it comes to DRM for their games. Price is $100 less because Sony didn't include their camera, which they tooted as an add in, when it is not and they aren't adding in the fee for PSN. So basically you are still paying that $100+ dollars if you get everything for the PS4. MS just simply added it all in from the get go. No doubt in my mind, Sony will have a $500 SKU out the gates that will include a year of PSN and their camera to go along with the $400 bare bones package.

Either way, price is irrelevant when you are talking about a difference of $100 because you will be paying upwards of around $600 to $700 for either console if you get everything for the system, plus 2 or 3 games so getting either one and all they have to offer will be an expensive day.

Really the only thing you can say the PS4 had over the ONE is the daily online check ups, which means absolutely nothing to me. Unless you live in the back woods of West Virginia, this shouldn't affect you considering every one I know and just about ALL of their electronic devices, are connected to the internet in some way, shape or form, not to mention get daily updates for their apps, patches for the consoles, games, driver updates, etc. Fanboys are just throwing it out there as if that is a big deal, when reality, it isn't.

Nice try, Microsoft.

Wii was terrible at first, then i just warmed up to it (Nintendo Revolution was the alternative? THAT is a crappy name). However, i think Wii U and Turbographx16 are the worst ever. when i was a kid I couldn't even pronounce Turbographx16 (not american and english isn't my mother language)
