You are taking it too an extreme; obviously the slavery issue has been put to rest and it is fundamentally and historically different from this.. not answering something so frivolous.
Bunch of democrats here. He's American, too. I wouldn't vote for him; I like Ben Carson or the governor from Texas. I heard this guy is really unpopular even for right-wings though.
Sad if people think their lives are going downhill... shake it up or something idk. My life is alright; can't complain much. If it were to go downhill in the future I'd say it'd be settling down.
State Sovereignty has been dead for some time I guess. Kind of lame that no one seems to care for the rights of the mainly Christians who don't want that legal; I just play devil's advocate to keep things balanced, so don't shoot.
I'm jealous xD Rammstein would be fantastic to see in person! I've never been to any concert of any sort, unfortunately :\ I'd like to see Billy Joel though.. Idk if he's still good at performing due to his age. Chuck Berry would have also been sweet, but that man is actually OLD!
No. But, I mean, modernization in effect created the definitions of income inequality, consumerism, etc. as we know them today. If there wasn't any psychological acceptance of the terms then there would not be any of those things in theory. I don't think it's just a game of semantics though. All these things contribute to poverty and violence, some in less tangible degrees. But I believe in a butterfly effect like model going on with everything we accept universally to be true, or for things we're completely ignorant of for that matter. There has always been violence and poverty, but, I think the nature of it now is worse, though there may be less. I don't think you'd even have to go back thousands of years to satisfy that claim. The Native Americans took the scalp of their enemies as a sign of their dominion or whatever, now it's like some guy skins his girlfriend because he likes to make her parts into furniture. Where does that come from? Overall, in light of mankinds history, modernization is a good thing. I don't think it's sustainable if business practices aren't checked.
I'm not good at remembering things of importance. I'm also not good at concentrating. I used to be spectacular at both so I really don't know why I've lost the skills; I think it's because I actively tried to improve them, so I guess I just lost heart like a wuss.
@korvus: Ahh, that's awesome! You live in Portugal, no? I'm not really active on here comments wise, but I may have read that sometime ago. European Portuguese and Brasilian to me seem very different; Idk if it's only my imagination though because I can't understand Amalia Rodrigues a lot lol >.<
No, you got it right :p Brasilian-German. But yeah, I thought most people would see the name and think Spanish xD at least Americans, which is understandable since Spanish is so prevalent here.
I'm glad you mentioned that it's not exclusive to idiotic teenagers; I've seen grown men who probably have wives and children with their top roll down listening to Lil Wayne talk about women giving him oral sex and how he oh-so-cleverly dubs it "Pina Coloda." It's pretty funny how someone with 40+ years can look so damn dumb in my 20 year eyes. I'm inclined to respect all those older than me but these instances make it hard.
