@Hellhound30x @Hellhound30x Really? I've been playing as part of an Arma multiplayer community for years and it is quite simply, as far as I am concerned, the only way to play Arma.
Campaigns are great fun, sure.
Playing with 60 others in a struggle to complete objectives as a well oiled machine reliant on communication and familiarity with those you play with - no game comes close to providing that experience.
If you want to play Arma in synergy with its strengths, whilst mitigating the myriad bugs inherent in the engine - join a community that plays ACE+ACRE with a couple decent mission designers.
Maybe someone has pointed it out already but I think a video titled "Diablo III - Still Playing?" after this article, given the context, could perhaps be perceived as a little insensitive. I love me a little dark humour but this is either WAY too soon, or without empathic consideration.
@Adenosine I would have thought the aversion to killing indiscriminately would be routed in morality. Is the law the only thing stopping you from hurting other people? Have you no empathy? By all means, if violent video games are the release you require to prevent you from killing someone, batter on! However, I think there are some underlying issues you might want to address.I play violent video games because they are either hilariously ironic or are completely removed from my relatively comfortable existence and allow me to empathise with characters in fictional narratives.
If I ever found myself screaming **** YOU at the screen whilst mashing the keyboard I'd do my best to get a grip of my life.
@luniac You've obviously some knowledge regarding Stalin. The Katyn massacre. Order 270/277. Millions is indeed a large number. So is tens of thousands.
The Soviets were instrumental in ending the war - doesn't make Stalin a nice guy.
Did this not start out as an ARMA 2 mod? Did the hobbyist modders not then decide to tackle the mountainous feat of turning their mod into a fully fledged game after purchasing rights to the engine from Bohemia Interactive? I would have thought a 'GREAT EFFORT, SON!' was in order here, at least. Am I thinking of the same game? Been a while since I was on the forums; but I'm almost certain.
Research? This is a victory in principle!
No doubt it's inaccessible and buggy. It's ARMA 2. Total love/hate relationship.
