Yeah well see, back then online was pretty new, so it was no big deal for me. And I did say I used to be a Nintendo fan. I have a Melee Mario avatar because I used to compete in Melee tournaments. So in regards to your other comment, let's see what I've got for Wii when it comes to "competetive" or "serious" games. I got Smash Brawl, which is decent but pales in comparison for me when compared to Melee competitively. I got a shitty Black Ops and Modern Warfare 3 dumbed down port, put on Wii just so the casual gamers could play (the cpu couldn't even handle some of the killstreaks, lmao). The Wii has the Conduit, which I guess some people enjoy, but it's a really buggy fucking game which looks like it wasn't polished at all. Then I got a bunch of Mario games and Zelda, and Zelda was probably the only reason I didn't throw out my Wii. Even so, Skyward Sword had almost no exploration compared to Wind Waker or Twilight Princess, so the fact that I pre-ordered it to enjoy "the next true zelda game" was kind of disappointing to me. The point is, back then the hardware wasn't too apart for Gamecube-PS2- and Xbox, besides the online, Gamecube was pretty damn close to it's competetitors. But now, it's no excuse. the Wii U's hardware should have been on the Wii. But Nintendo instead forgot about the hardware and used hype about a shitty gimmick (motion controls) instead of working on the hardware.
@abHS4L88 It's still gonna get fucked when it comes to hardware and abbilities. And no, I'm not just talking about graphics. Remember the problems the Wii had? Besides graphics? The online was fucking balls. It was hard as hell to maintain communication between other players (No easy chat/ no headsets). And don't even talk to me about that WiiConnect24 shit. It was clunky as hell. After the 1st year, the shitty Motion Control gimmick wore off. In fact, 80% of my Wii games don't even use Motion Controls. I got New Super Mario Bros Wii, Smash 3, Donkey Kong Country, Mario Galaxy, and Zelda Skyward Sword. I guess if you count Mario Galaxy, that makes 60%, but only because of that stupid spin mechanic. All the other Wii games didn't even need it. And I can bet you alot that 2 years after the Wii's release, no one touched it again. Now you're talking about 3DS, I don't know about 3DS, since I'm not much on handhelds, besides my old PSP 2000. But, isn't it obvious the Vita is going to have more better games coming to it? Let's be honest, Nintendo's only asset are their first party licensed games, when it comes to third party, it's all gonna be developers not knowing how the hell to use it's hardware, and the games are probably gonna be unfortunately under-developed. Sure, you can give me a couple exceptions like RE, but what else? I know the 3DS is gonna have bad online, simply because Nintendo doesen't care about that shit, and I know that besides their games, it's gonna be a mountain of crap, just like it was for the Wii. And the fact that they are even COMPARING it to a tablet and cowering to it shows that when it comes to gaming, they are going for the casual masses.
@dawnofhero The thing is, Nintendo has been falling back a generation. 2 generations ago they were even with lets say Sony. Now when it comes to technology, they are ignoring it and going after the stupid casual masses.
