"If we ever want to see games being broadly accepted as an art form or as anything other than a slightly quirky past-time..."
$800 million dollars for a game in 24 hours. Which is MORE money than all but 39 movies movies have pulled at the world box office in their entire cinema run (source http://boxofficemojo.com/alltime/world/) would probably suggest that there are quite a few people taking is quite seriously.
Since you brought up the topic of being taken seriously, perhaps sporting a Mily Cyrus haircut, and unkempt beard, and wearing clothes that allow for your tattoos to be seen while at your job related to that industry could be seen as hypocritical .
If rockstar had made one of their ultra-violent criminal characters a female, women would be bitching about how they unfairly portrayed women as ultra-violent criminals. They don't and they bitch there isn't a female lead.
Any ways, rockstar made 800million reasons in 24 hours to ignore the 4 women who won't shut up about it.
There is a spark of artistic creativity in here that has captured my interest. I am happy to see that the guy doing the interview is so passionate about the work he is involved with and I hope that the game reflects that.
There are some pretty crazy, amazing, wonderful, and horrible stories from WW1. Really looking forward to this now.
