@Smosh150 @Gears_0f_L0ve Or even the a-10 warthog. That vulcan cannon has a nice little "Vooooooooooooop" when it fires.

@Darkwalker75 @shane9494 heck it isn't even considered alpha yet. it's at best a pre-alpha developer build. but the beauty is that you take part in the core building of the game. You get to act as Quality assurance, tester, and (depending on your knowledge) you can help in troubleshooting, bug testing, and even artistic development of the in game lore and environment.

of course it all depends on your own level of active involvement within the community as well, but it is still a very unique aspect of this entire program.

@Darkwalker75 @saadis Yes. To have the right to play the hornet in the early access modules is about 110 dollars. But remember that once the game launches, every ship currently in game (and in development) is stated as being available to be earned in game, through in game money. You do not have to spend that much money if you can exercise patience.

while not as glorious, a 50.00 investment alone is enough to get you early access, a ship you can fly, backer bonuses, a full length single player campaign with branching story lines, and a full size MMO sandbox persistant universe without any subscription fees, and the ability to make private moddable serviers.

If that doesn't say bang for your buck I -really- don't know what does.

@TigusVidiks @ChiefReaver @shane9494 The requirements are not as bad as you think actually. I run an I-5 quad core (second gen) with 12 gig ram and a single amd 5880. The game runs beautiful at medium settings and i can even push a few setting up if I want to. ...though with how it looks already I don't even feel the need.

The game is also not that high either. backing with a mere $50.00 (less than an off the shelf game which averages $66.00 to $75.00) gets you a full single player game, a full-access sandbox style MMO persistant universe, the ability to run private servers, early access, and a starter ship that does not have to be earned in game and can be used to financially set you ahead to earning a higher end ship faster in game.

-every- ship featured can be earned in game through in game currency. Pumping even a single cent more is entirely optional for the entire life of the game, as it stands right now. No required subscriptions, No required pay to win.

I imagine your own machine could be brought up to spec with just a couple of upgrades. Which are typically actually quite cheap these days. All it takes is a touch of research (for example knowing if your system is dual or triple channel ram, an intel of amd chipset, etc) and then getting one or two components as appropriate. Ram is cheap, a last-gen video card is easy to get on sale with a little hunting (heck the 5880 I use is dated as hell but works great still).

the reward is a game that doubles as an art piece, and additional life on your personal machine. One thing about upgrades. they can be done in steps (diffusing costs over time) and they apply to far more than a single application. They also extend the life of your overall tower, and lengthening the value of the original investment in your system.
