@GTR12: Who said these were gonna be 4k/60?

The new gpu's are coming out next year so current gpu's not being able to handle them is'nt a big deal. I mean yea it's gonna be awhile before we're actually doing a full 144hz but I'm talking at least between 80-100fps with the new Voltas in SLI. Definitely higher than 60fps tho because I'm staying at a locked 60 right now in 4k with one TitanXP in over 90% of modern titles (with anti aliasing completely turned off of course).

I turn off anti aliasing because honestly I don't see a need for it on a 27" 4k display at 163ppi. And in the less than 10% of titles which I don't stay locked i usually hover between 45-60fps which almost isn't even noticeable with Gsync. However I'm not doing sli currently (which would bridge that 15fps gap) but I will be when these monitors drop.

So both Acer and Asus have pushed back their 4k hdr monitors. Both monitors carry the same specs and will most likely be the same price (just like their current 27" 4k displays: PG27AQ and the XB271HK). So what reason will there be to pick one over the other?

P.S Please dont anyone turn this into a war over resolutions. This is a question for 4k gamers only i.e., people who currently game in 4k/60fps or are about to make the leap. This isn't for anyone who claims "4K gaming isn't here yet" simply because they can only afford a $300 gpu. Thanks.

@Phreek300: lol ok so basically you need 60fps in almost EVERY game. And I'm sorry but i'd pick frame rate over friends. If I can play Destiny 2 at 200000fps but my friends can only play at 15fps then guess what...im getting new friends. Sometimes extreme examples drive home the point.

Both are equally important. Idk why guys act like its either one or the other. I like games with superb graphics coupled with high frame rates so I pick both.

@zeeshanhaider: Rise of the Tomb Raider hovers in the 50's with the titan xp and Witcher 3 stays capped at 60. I haven't played dishonored 2 yet but I'll see. What I'm saying is...if the current Titan is staying at 60 in most titles and hovering in the 50's in the rest, what makes you think a constant 60 is so far away? The next batch of top end Pascals will obviously be able to hold 60 and beyond.

@zeeshanhaider: Hell, even the Titan XP can do above 60hz in the games I just mentioned. The only reason why it's locked on 60 is because that's the max refresh rate of the monitor.

@zeeshanhaider: Recent AAA titles where I am also keeping a solid 60fps at 4k:

Titanfall 2

Gears 4

Infinite Warfare

Arkham Knight

Mad Max

MGS 5

Shadow Warrior 2

Killing Floor 2

...and just about every game that came out before 2015. The only "new" game that I see drop below 60fps is Watchdogs 2. I don't know about the gtx 1080 but I have a Titan XP which I will be ditching for the Titan V2 as soon as it's released so we don't have to wait for volta to see 4k60 if the V2 is already gonna hitting above that.

@zeeshanhaider: If I'm already hitting a solid 60fps with a Titan XP how in the world will I not be seeing at least 80-100fps with a 2080ti or Titan V2? Mind you we're talking about a 3840x2160 resolution being displayed on a 27" monitor with a goddamn pixel density of 163 pixels per inch. That means anti aliasing is completely unnecessary and can be turn OFF which will guarantee you an extra 20fps on top of the 80fps that these new GPU's will certainly be able to achieve. Yes, 4k at 100hz is a reality in 2017.

@jhonMalcovich: Normally I would agree, I currently game on a 32" Acer 4k/60hz. But for 144hz and HDR, I'll sacrifice a a few inches for that. Especially since it doesn't seem like Asus will be making a 32" version. They haven't even made a 32" 4k/60hz. Acer may make a 32" since they are the only ones who made a 32" 4k/60 gaming display (XB321HK), but I prefer Asus image quality over Acer anyway. Acer displays seem a bit washed out for some reason. This 32" Acer I have now will be my last acer display.
