Statistically, demos reduce game sales. So the answer, 'they can't', also incorporates 'they don't want to'. There is plenty of hype already, they don't need the distraction of a demo.

Having played pretty much all day, I'd give it an 8.5 rather than a 9 but the review makes sense. It's not The Witcher 3 or Metal Gear Solid, but it is a good iteration of the Assassin's Creed series. And there are less chests than in Unity :-)

Interesting. The average on review sites is running between 7.5 and 8.0 / 10. So it's a decent entry in the series. Not quite up there with ACII and Black Flag, but better than the lesser entries. If you like Assassin's Creed (and I do) then you know what you are getting. Games such as The Witcher 3 and Metal Gear Solid have shifted our understanding of what great looks like and Ubisoft have been caught out wearing last season's shirt, but it is what it is, and I will likely enjoy it.

Sounds like it's not the best and not the worst AC game. The series itself has suffered by comparison with Witcher III / MGS but that's not its fault. I have three weeks before Fallout 4, this will do just fine.

I do think micro transactions in other games are getting some grumbling.

This does seem to be a trend, though.
Often with some kind of 'time saver' concept. 'Lazy? Want all the things now ?!!!'

The great danger is that normal gameplay may be artificially lengthened or made into random grinding loot drops to make the micro transactions attractive. These are not free to play mobile games, these are AAA paid for titles.

@Alexk91: You are right that this give a bad impression. These transaction are in my opinion completely unnecessary. If they were not there, people would have to actually play the game to get their stuff.

@blokk: Doesn't seem to be anything 'pay to win' about this, it's like needing to find schematics to make stuff and the payment is 'here, have the schematics for a price'. I find using them lessens the game so I'll go and fetch them myself.
