I didn't much like the side-by-side splitscreen of #1. Is there any word on whether this will have a top-and-bottom option?

Also, will split-screen be able to play online this time?

All of that, and balancing. As with any RPG, ensuring some level of balance between playable characters can take some time to figure out.

I bought a white 'genuine' xbox 360 controller this week off ebay (shipped from within Australia). It is an accurate-appearing, poor quality copy.

Packaging and controller both look pretty authentic.

How to Identify between my genuine controllers, and the fake one:

-Hologram sticker. The copies hologram has the word 'Microsoft' once, on an illegible background. The genuine (all 3 of my others) have a repeating hologram of the word 'Microsoft' many times on several lines.

-'Microsoft' engraving on top of controller. The genuine looks good and even, the copy has some letters at different thicknesses.

-Silver panel on user side. The fake is a rough surface, dull grey. The genuines are smooth and shiny. (On my fake, this panel was also slightly misalligned)

-The packaging on the fake looked like this (not my pic: http://img11.imageshack.us/img11/4329/packagingb.jpg)

Operational differences:

-Buttons. They feel a bit different when pressed, and the fake ones have a springy sound.

-Joysticks. Range of movement seems slightly affected. Require different pressure to press in. (On the fake ,my right joystick also pressed in only rotating, and the left joystick occasionally locked into a slight moved position.)

-Battery pack spot. My authentic recharging pack did not sit properly in the fake controller, it required more force to put in, and sort of got stuck part way.

.

Just so you know, and maybe this will help some people. I found the fake to be of slightly poor quality during use as each button/joystick pressed, controlled, and read slightly different than the genuine controllers. I was not as accurate.

Im fairly unsure on just about all the upcoming games.

Red Faction looks they they may have put too much into 'desctructable environments' without focus on much else.

Wolverine may have the usual movie tie-in fail.

Bionic commando looks like it will fail savagely. Averageish shooting mechanisms, then some swinging in restricted environments.

Transformers will tank like the last one.

Ghostbusters probably will also, not enough gameplay variation i reckon.

Prototype I actually don't think will bomb, it seems to have potential. Story, free roaming, powers much beyond just spiderman's swinging and beatemups.

TOO HUMAN...I think its a blast!

smack_masta

I was going to post the same thing, I loved TOO HUMAN!

I was coming here to post Too human also, so I will third that opinion. Love the control system, decent story, all around fun game. All I'm playing right now.

Also, will second the previous mention of the spiderman and MUA games.

Years ago (maybe 10?) I was quite addicted to this online multiplayer 2D space shooter.

A couple of teams, maybe 4, would go head to head with different tasks, stuff me if I remember what they were though.

Games were really quite big, maybe 20+ people.

The more you played and won, you got points/money that could be spent on better ships, or upgrading them.

I've looked around, and cant find it. Seemed sort of like Subspace, only i think it looked a bit better, and had the upgrade elements and newer ships the more you played.

Anyone remember this, know if its still up and running, I had a flashback to it and need to play it again.

Cheers.

Just to outline my concerns, which are more reasons I think it will be many years at least before this takes over, if it does, as many people seem to think it will:

1. No mention yet of service outside mainland US.

2. 5Mbps speed required, mention made of 120GB monthly usage (60 hours). Here, currently, an 'up to 8Mbps' plan is available for $80 per month, and it only provides 25GB of usage. This is much more than I currently spend on internet+consoles+games+live+cable television at the moment. Not affordable, and I want to play more than 12 hours a month.

3. I do much of my gaming at placeswhere an internet connection as mentioned above is not even available.

4. Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo are surely well into development of their next generation of consoles. They won't drop all that work and not bring them out. Also, they will still want their exclusive titles, as they always have.

So I reckon, this will not completely take over gaming, as some are predicting, until at least: the end of the next generation of consoles, and until internet connections around the world catch-up to the required standards with affordable pricing.

But, I hope it works out well for those of you who can access it in the near future.

(p.s., what is pricing like on suitable internet plans in the mainland US? How will this cost be in relation to say, a high-end PC or console cost broken up over a couple of years?)
