Lara Croft is famous because of her boobs. In 2012 I want to see these boobs moving when she runs around without a bra. They do not and it sucks. Besides the boobs, tomb raider used to be a 3d puzzle platformer. Now it is a simplified shooting - parkour simulator. Thumbs down, its a ripoff
Ok part of the problem is within the game industry and game content. But could it be that the other part is within women? No sexism meant, just unbiased observation: Look at popular women magazines. They are atrocious. The way goods aimed for women are promoted? It is often disgusting. People that produce this stuff know their markets, most of the time they are women themselves. And what about our personal experience? We chat with women. Generally speaking, is it high level discussion ? Do we often hear stuff worth listening to? I propose something: More than worrying about games, we must worry about women. Either we need to educate them or throw the equality argument to the rubbish because it doesn't stand the reality check.
