GT5 will be great if you even remotely like racing games. and then killzone 3 and LBP 2 early 2011...

So many games have come out recently or earlier this year. If you have played all of the great games this year to death, and there aren't enough new games that come out in the next 3 months to satisfy you, then you need to spend less time playing videogames.

Gym is ridiculously easy, and usually fun :|

In my school you don't get a good grade if you a) don't try or b) forget your clothes

Reach of course ill pass on GT5 because i dislike racers thats too realistic it makes the car handling almost impossible. So ill stick to racers like forza and NFSbigboss5ak
hmmm. more like you just suck at the game. because the best GT5 racers can freakin zoom through those tracks

[QUOTE="moose_knuckler"]I don't see how the inclusin of iconic battles in any war game makes the dev. afraid of stretching their imaginations. Those are just de facto battles to include because of their importance. I didn't read your article but that's just my take from what you've said.moose_knuckler

Yeah, but why hasn't any mainstream World War II games featured the German perspective in the single-player campaign mode?

And also, why hasn't Medal of Honor or Call of Duty featured important battles like the German invasion of France? That was pretty important, yet you never see it.

That case would have some sensitivity issues. It's certainly a interesting aspect to add into the history behind WWII games but just the very idea of playing as a Nazi won't go smoothly with some.

I don't see what the big deal would be. Most german soldiers weren't nazis, and most of them didn't know about the concentration camps and stuff. But it would still be unpopular to play as someone who represented one of the most hated regimes in history. so it wont happen. You could try playing as the French, but the problem would be that the Germans would stomp all over for you and the campaign would be over pretty soon

The best WW2 games i can think of were CoD2, and Brothers in Arms: Road to hill 30. Both games, especially the latter, really captured the grittiness of the war (just look at the opening scene to BiA), and also shared a strong emotional impact to the gamer, at least for me.

I can't wait to see a new WW2 game next gen that would be on par with those 2 titles.

That's because the Wii wasn't so pathetic as to go without a AAAE game for 2 years from launch. MGS4 was a big deal because it was the first game to justiffy the purchase of a PS3. GT5 will be bigger news but that's just the nature of this board. SMG2 will remain the more critically acclaimed game and frankly 10 years from now its going to be recognized as the game that aged better too.

ActicEdge

Generally, AAA's receive more attention on ps3 and 360 than on Wii. PS3 had several decent games by its second year. You don't think if GT5 is what it's cracked up to be, it won't age well in ten years?

That's just the nature of this board,it has nothing to do with quality. PS3 had pretty much nothing to define the systems identity until MGS4. It did have good games though, just not great. Also, due to the nature of the tech driven racing games I think as soon as GT6 rolls around everyone will forget about GT5 whether or not it scores a 10. SMG2 is not going anywhere in 10 years frankly. (don't think this is an attack against GT5 though, I'm sure for fans of the genre its going to be awesome)

I think GT5 will be considered a pretty big step forward in thefor the series and the genre. That's what i think it will be remebered for

Why would you not put SMG2 up there? You know, that game that scored AAAA here and is one of the most highely rated video games, ever?

Well, I disagree that another 10 would refute the argument though. You can lose a year even with a AAAA title. Prob should have just said there are enough AAA and AA games to put the PS3 on the Wii's level as it is instead of the hypothetical situation. I mean, speculating on AAAA is kinda useless if you get what I mean.

ActicEdge

So is this entire thread  claiming the wii has won the year with the entire fall season left (which many big games are coming out in) is useless. Several AAA's could be given out

Most people have said no. The entire thread is saying whether its possible to crown the Wii a winner which is pretty SW standard. I'm not sure if there is much worth in speculating AAAA games though. Its not something I think can be predicted or is all that neccessary to win the year.

true. Even if GT5 scores AAA and it wouldn't win, it will still be great for gamers. 2010 is stiff competition. ME2, GT5, SMG2. All games that are reviewed well, or i'm sure will be reviewed well upon release

A GT5 10 would just equal SMG's 10. I don't see how the argument is refuted. :S

ActicEdge

Besides, when SMG2 recieved a 10, it was big news - but no where near the deal of attention that MGS4 was given when that got a 10. SW was in chaos. I suspect GT5 scoring a 10 would be a bigger deal than SMG2.
