@Juub1990: This is why the Scorpio's price point is so important. At $399 the Scorpio could be a winner. At $499 it is virtually guaranteed to be a dud.

For another $100 Nintendo could have added a larger battery, better cooling, and overclock (instead of underclock) the X1 (perhaps even a die shrink).
All this would be for naught: with these advances the NS would still only be about half as powerful as an Xbone (~700 vs 1300 GFLOPS).
I have to solute Sony for having the balls to create the Cell. It was a monster that completely dusted every other CPU in floating point performance.
Unfortunately it exacerbated a huge (and growing) problem in the industry. Game development is already difficult, time consuming, and expensive and the Cell made it more so.
Horizon: Zero Dawn is a dope game. Pretty much my only response to this silly thread.
That is a perplexing paradox; the current graphics king is on obsolete hardware.
1)Bloodborne
2)Horizon: Zero Dawn
3)The Witcher 3
Honorable mentions: Dark Souls 3 and Uncharted 4
This has been a really great generation IMO. There are a ton of games that are on the horizon (RDR2, TLoU2, GoW, Prey, Outlast II, etc) and a lot of games that are out that I haven't been able to play yet (Nioh, Zelda:BotW, Nier: Automata, etc). It's a great time to be a gamer.
Who knew obsolescence could be so much fun?
Super Mario Sunshine was shit.
