rumor has it that yoshi is actually a rare breed of ferret. a giant, green, hairless, dinosaur-like kind.

Thanks for leading me and my grievances (albeit somewhat trivial) in the right direction. But i must admit, this additional review change that you mention is intriguing. What was the score originally?

I do apologize for the off topic nature of my comment and questioning, but you have just picked at my curiosity of the subject.

hmmm, i say we make a petition for a re-review.

Not because Gamespot's opinion matters so much in my decision nor should in anyone's decision to buy/play the game, but just for the overall quality of the review. For gamespot to present a review with so many contradictions within itself not only insults us as users and consumers, but is a great injustice to the magnificent work done by retro studios in their magnum opus of the Metroid series (perhaps a little exagerrtaed, but you get my point).

I'm sure when they changed the original Metal Gear Solid (PS1) review it was under the same or if not similiar circumstances.

Actraiser, not a game like it anywhere. It's just too damn good.

Waro, 2 toads, and a dry bones in defense.

Works extremely well in volleyball strategies.

No, Ness is not necessarily confirmed.

Look at the badge, it clearly states "Mother", favoring the japanese side of the franchise. If they are indeed keeping with the most updated version of each game franchise, then its more likely that Lucas will be in the game. If the badge had said Earthbound on it, it would be a completely different story.

If my theory holds up then this could mean that Mother 3 (or Earthbound 2) could be making its way stateside. Hopefully in some kind of DS enhanced experience. Smash Bros is too big of a franchise for Nintendo to just drop in an ambigious character from a game that was never released here. The exception was Fire Emblem for Melee, Roy and Marth more specifically. However the key difference with that franchise was that they were secret characters. Looking at their track record, i doubt that nintendo will make the Earthbound/Mother characters secret again after being playbale from the start in Melee.

Also to further aid my theory on mother 3 coming stateside, after their introduction in Melee, the fire emlem series finally was released, albeit with different characters, they were still released.

i have to say, those are all very solid ideas. wow.

how about a mario retroactive level. The background and surroundings all change in a Mario evolutionary manner. Kind of like how the final lavos battle in chrono trigger works, except on a much more interactive manner. You'd mostly be on a platform but the back ground would warp and timeshift through various real footage and levels of past mario games. Some interactive ideas, the dolphins from super mario world jumping from the bottom of the screen, or bulletbills and cannon balls streaming slowly from all angles like in the battleship levels in Mario 3.
