Ive never actually owned an nvidia card, i've gone with ATI since rage3d and never experienced unreliable drivers. I personally just bought a 4870 2gb and love it. i can play my entire library of games (which includes NFS shift and farcry 2) at maxed settings with my e6600 at stock. However, I have experienced some difficulties with physx effects with shift. But shift is just a poorly programmed pos game anyways.
Has anybody else ever noticed that once you install The Sims 2 on a PC with a fresh install of Windows XP it slows it right down again? Not just the game - but everything. I have 3 different computers that have the Sims 2 on it and all have suffered the same fate. I've googled my ass off about this and turned up nothing. Does anybody know of any tools to help this issue or some sort of lite installer?
For your information the most powerful of my PC's with The Sims 2 on it that has suffered is: 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2gb DDR2, ATI Radeon x1950XTX (512mb) DX9.0c Omega Drivers, 320gb HDD on an ASUS P5B
