I built a PC and its built like a fortress sure the PC's produced by companies like Dell and Gateway are going to be crappy build quality because they are looking for the most cost effective way to build a computer and components usually come before casing when it comes to large computer manufacturers that you will find in stores like futureshop and bestbuy although you can now found ibuypower pc's and such at larger retailers now and I find they have a good build quality for the money!

There is no way that a console will ever beat a gaming PC because who is going to pay 800$ for a console? companies have the technology available to them its just that it would raise the price to a point where households would be unwilling to buy them. This is why PC gamers are in the minority. Most people don't have 600-1000 dollars to spend on a computer and won't especially if they aren't a hardcore gamer. Gaming consoles are starting to more and more gear themselves towards the "family" experience and away from hardcore gaming ex.kinect and this is why they need to keep cost and price low. Until something like the steam box we will not see a console that can match the graphical performance of a PC that has a high end graphics card installed. It just won't happen!

Hey I had a mac I sold it used for quite a bit and I used the cash to build myself a sweet gaming desktop! If you really don't want to sell the mac there isn't really anyway your going to be able to run it any faster ram really doesn't have much to do with gaming it's more of the graphics card and CPU I had a new mac about a year ago and it wouldn't play most games so if you want to play games you'll have to upgrade your mac to the highest model they have or you can just sell it and get a gaming PC which is my suggestion :)
