French site Jeuxpo reports that Grand Theft Auto IV will be released on PC in Europe this October. Though they do not offer any specific sources, they do cite retail plans. Neither Rockstar, nor Take Two has confirmed this to be true, but as one can expect, the PC version should be out within six to eight months of the game's console release.

GTA 4 will set stores on fire on April 29 for PS3 and Xbox 360. This time around, the game is based on a rip off version of New York City, dubbed Liberty City, and is set in the present time. Besides the obvious crime-based missions in the game, players will have the option to make friends and maintain relationships with people in the game for added benefits

We're big fans of Burnout: Paradise here at Opposable Thumbs. Criterion has done an excellent job supporting its title and developers everywhere should be watching the company's decisions with downloadable content. PC gamers raring to get in on the Paradise action will now, too, get to enjoy Criterion's hard work: EA has announced that a PC version of the game is on the way.

The announcement was paired with a live demonstration of the title already running on a two-year old laptop with a great framerate. The developers noted that nothing would be lost in the transition and that making the game playable on older hardware while maintaining the high frame rate is a strong focus for the team. They also made a point of saying that development for the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions would not be adversely affected by the new PC development work. In fact, the team expects that content production will only be speeding up.

The rebuilt PC version, which is the first in the series to hit the PC, will include "expanded multiplayer, enhanced online features, and community driven content." No release date or price have been announced, but you can follow along with the frequent updates on the title's development at Criterion's website as they become available.
