Does anyone reading this actually own one of the 40gb PS3's? (UK gamers only).

The 40gb model has only recently been released in the UK and shines out from the crowd as it is only £299.99. This all seems like a great deal until they attempt to play one of their PS2 games.

Nearly all PS3 owners only purchased the PS3 so that they could also play PS3 games as well as their current library of PS2 games. I don't think that too many people who have NEVER played any PS2 games would have rushed out to buy a PS3.

Parents and non gamers who are buying the console for their kids, etc need to be made aware of this as there is going to be a lot of disappointed gamers out there. Sony has not marked any advertisements for this console with the fact that it is not at all backwards compatible.

Basically what I'm saying is DO NOT BUY THE 40GB PS3, STICK WITH THE 60GB.

I'm not sure about any other counties and whether their consoles are backwards compatible, but this is for the British market.
