@homelessgamer It was. Was pretty sad when all he could come up with was that it happened a long time ago, and that they're friends. Doesn't erase the fact this site fired someone who gave a low score to a game that had a company paying out the ass to turn the entire site into a giant billboard.
And then he laughably says he "spent time" with a max level character. Yeah someone let him log on to their 50 for 5 minutes. But then he forgot to mention anything about it in the review.
@Kevin-V @scarecrows It is very much relevant. It was proven that marketing money was influencing reviews when someone is fired because of a low score (which means people are praised when giving high scores for games with advertising money).
The time passed since the incident means nothing because this site lost credibility forever because of it.
If you have a max level character you wouldn't know it from this review where you don't speak at all about it. Nothing of attunements, of the end game zone, the ultra drop about to hit. Nothing on veteran 5mans. Nothing on warplots, just a paragraph on practice battlegrounds. Nothing at all about raids, hell from reading this review you would think this game doesn't even have one let alone two.
And yes, it takes a week to a month to level in an mmo. Base games and expansions typically are around for two years. So 96% of your time spent on content you didn't even gloss over. This is the first mmo in a long time to come out finished, not with stuff to be tacked on later through content patches.
@Kevin-V @scarecrows Hey remember Jeff Gerstmann? That was quite the funny story. But hey, at least he fully played that game. You spend 99% of your time at max level in these games. Maybe you should have tried some of it before giving your review.
