@barrybarryk Dude.....seriously post a link ffs. I've read the Xi3 pages already, and it says steam big picture optimization, but this is NOT the Valve steam box, as the this GS article states already. We do not know what VALVE's steambox actually will be spec or looks wise.

@barrybarryk @saucex4 AMD R464 is very similar to the A10 as stated in this article. This is a marketed as optimised for steam big picture, not marketed as a steam box. This article is misleading by mentioning "unofficial steambox" when we don't know what the steambox is going to be.

@inuzitis @saucex4 Then this is not for you because you don't need it. If Valve is backing this then clearly there is something A LOT of people cannot see. I don't need this either, but I still recognize it's potential for other people not myself. You're only thinking of your own needs and not the needs of others that have different needs than your own.

@Spartan_418 low noise is obviously the reason. This product is meant for people who want/need low noise.

@inuzitis @saucex4 You're arbitrarily limiting the market place for the device instead of seeing where it could be used.

I like many others, I do not need this hardware. I too can build a machine to my liking much better. That doesn't mean others can. That also doesn't limit it to the gaming space either. I see a lot of potential in the private sector for a device with this form factor and price performance ratio.

Yeah I saw that comment :p You're information is incorrect. The article even states it's using an AMD A10.

A lot of people here are limiting the product to their own needs, when it's clearly not for them. Also this machine doesn't only have to be used for gaming, something like this has some great potential in the private or public sector.

@trdrstv @saucex4 Any consumer, or business that requires a powerful machine with a small form factor that can be easily moved from one place to another and operates silently. I can think of a lot of road warriors that could use something like this. This could be used for entertainment systems in air planes, boats, cars or other forms of transportations.

This form factor and performance ratio is much more rare in the PC space.

EDIT: $1000 machine with this kind of power is very cheap and could replace an entire companies' line of old hardware quite well, and last them 2 or 3 OS generations.

FORM FACTOR !!! >_<

This is obviously something people in the comments are not familiar with. Mobile phones can cost upwards of $1000 USD, but be less powerful than a PC. Why you ask? Because it's SMALL!

This product is not for tech savy gamers who can build their own rigs OBVIOUSLY. So why try to shoot down a product not even meant for you >_>....oh the internet why do I even bother.

@trdrstv @svaubel I think we have to take into consideration what kind of product this is. This is not a Full Tower product. Look at the form factor, it's quite tiny and versatile with it's multitude of inputs.

Just like with mobile products that are high powered, and have smaller form factors the prices are going to go up.

The target here is obviously not the technically savy gamer. There are many people afraid of opening their towers because they might screw something up, and their worries are legitimate because they usually do.

We have our market, why are people trying to stifle another one that isn't even targeted at us? -_-
