Hey, sorry to hear that youre being deprived of Crysis, but ehre are a few things that might be good to try.

Reinstall (not the usual type)

1. Uninstall the game. 2. Run CCleaner to remove registry values left behind (bad registry valuesl eft behind after uninstals can cause a progrma to crash when you reinastall it, as it doesnt delete the old reg. keys). 3. Reinstall

Update Drivers

I use a program called DriverMax for this, you can test it out for free for 30 days, and it will scan your drivers and show you any missing drivers you need, and the newest versions for every driver on your computer.

If this doesnt help, you could either reformat ( a big step i know), or hope someone else has had a similar problem and resolved it and have posted the answer somewhere.

Good luck

I dont believe there is a patch for the 360 yet (though I may be wrong). I believed they changed the game engine somehow to reduced the texture popping, and an update of that size would be too impractical for the 360. However, this is second hand information, so it may be way off.

There are a multiple of ways, Google it and there are millions of internet sites that will do it for you. Alternatively you can browse through the code if you know that thing and pick the link out, or just use one of the programs mentioned above, (probably the better choice). Just beware that some of the programs arent free, theres a trial, and I know on several of them this means that it stops the video after 1 minutes, so make sure you steer clears of those ones that want you to purchase them.

Personally I would back up the recommendation to Crysis, it is an amazing game with great visuals, AI, physics..well everything really. I managed to lose an entire week in it.

However, for other genres, I would suggest either Empire: Total War for a long epic strategy (it is a bit daunting at first though), or Dawn of War 2 (a mix between RTS and RPG)

Simulation games, Tom Clancy's HAWX is alright (better on the 360 though), or you might consider waiting for the Sims 3 if you want.... (I've never really liked the sims, but maybe thats just me).

and if you're looking for an immense world where you can lose yourself, definitely get Oblivion. It is a truly fantastic games (with the right game balancing mods of course), and there hundreds of hours of extra content on the many modding sites for Elder Scrolls out there.

Depends what type of game genre you like.

Happy hunting.

Ive never even noticed a bug like that. IVe played through the game repeatedly (on vanilla and 1.2) and have never seen that. Oh well, lucky me. :D

I would have to go for a bug in Oblivion, where the game was incompatible with my current video card drivers. It wouldnt render any objects (terrain was fine), so every object in the game appeared as a giant exclamation mark sign (you know the ones, yellow triangle sign with black exclamation mark). That was fun.

Oh and yes, 1.5gb should be enough RAM, the main concern is if you;ve got a video card. However, you being a member of Gamespot and all, im not even going to ask that question.

Yeha its definitely possible, however youll need a partition on the computer that doesnt have a windows system on it. If you only have the one, (C driver or whatever its name on yours), there are some programs that can allow you to repartitation that space, however I dont think that any of them are free.

But, if you do have another volume you just use for storing data, or if you want to put a cheap 50 dollar harddrive, you can then install the Beat version of 7 on the second partition.

Once youve done that you should see, when you boot the computer, two options to launch windows (for example I already see my XP home and the xp recovery toolkit options just after the BIOS).

You hsould be able to change the defalut settings and the length of time that they are displayed both in winxp and win7, I know the winxp is located under My COmputer-Properites- Advanced - Startup andRecovery-and then modifying the boo.ini

Hope this helps guys

Hmm. If its still unnatrally hot I would try taking off the cooler and looking at the base. For some of the coolers (I think with mine as well seeing its running 15 C over what it should), the part that touches the CPU can be made curved.

If it is the case, this can be fixed by sanding down the base until it is perfectly flat, try gettings yourself some good quality sanding gear for the metal (shouldnt cost too much) and then correcting the base of the cooler. Also, make sure that you didnt put too much of the paste on, as sometimes this can reuslt in a worse heat transferance from the CPU to the cooler.

Hope this helps.
