My friend brought over his pc tonight with vista home premium (or whatever) and to be honest, there isn't a whole lot new or different from XP. Imagine XP running Windows Blinds. That's about how it felt. Some small things here and there but nothing to spend the big bucks on. The annoying thing was how many times it asks you to let an app access the net. Like 3 times before it would stop bugging you. Nothing new, just a new paint job.
As a long PC gamer it is getting less and less tempting to upgrade for PC gaming. Why? What games are left for the PC are turning into crappy ports TO the PC now and the PC is turning into a 360 that can run Word and Excel. May as well save your $199 you would spend on this POS OS and buy a 360.
Seems ram above 1GB only matters at higher rez. this confirms what ive been reading all over the place. makes me happy since ram prices have gone way up!
whatever treep78. i just built a rig for a friend... AMD64 X2 4600+ with 2 GB RAM and a 7950GT 512MB and the thing runs smooth all maxed @ 1280x1024. Smokin'. For me, my AMD64 3200+ w/ 1GB RAM and a 6800 get buy on low/medium.
