well i love rock and i know many klassic bands and many modern bands, i think that most of guitar heroes music should be klassic because thats where MOST of the best guitar playing was maid honestly, any1 who says that there are many bands out there that can produce songs of the quality of van halen,led zeppelin, guns n roses, pink floyd, jimi hendrix, the yardbirds, black sabbath, metallica, pantera, ac/dc, deep purple. satriani, dire straits, eric clapton, santana, zack wyldeis crazy, though there are a few that can its really rare to find bands of such quality

i think bands to sell more is bull, there are stillmany kids nowadays that know about and prefer klassic rock, GH should be a game for rock fans, and rock fans should know about these great klassic bands, now i dont think we should only stay on them

i do think that there are some modern bands that we could put in the game but most of them are really underground and are more metal, the problem with metal is that not many ppl like it, 4get about pop rock bands cuz their guitar level sucks, now if we were to put some metal modern bands then im all for it, there are many songs that surpass klassic songs in terms of difficulty and there are some very original rythems, and it would be awsome to also see some instrumental guys like buckethead (again), john 5, paul gilbert, etc, these guys are crazy

anyway to get to the point cuz im just kinda lost here, there should be some modern rock bands but not many since most of the exellent ones are metal wich dont appeal to a big fan base, but there would be some very fun songs to play, i would be pissed if GH just had crap like my chemical romance, fall out boy, green day, U2, simple plan, all that, i dont hate pop/punk rock but its way too easy to play, and boring to be honest, the game would suck, we need music with an atcual entertaining and difficult/original rythems, not just a bunch of power cords...Nasukashi

Thats pretty much how i feel, but its just that the really great songs of the 80s they havent really used, and the ****cal songs they do use seem to drag on and loose their excitement (for me anyway) after a few plays through.

Show me a modern band with any kind of presence like Led Zeppelin or Hendrix, or the musical ability to be half of what they were, and I'd be dumbfounded. There's more rock then what is on the radio, if your curious. It's up to whoevers behind GHIII or RB (since it was never really specified) to select songs that would be fun, exciting, challenging or whatever qualities that they seek in songs that would appeal to a diverse group of people. Also, these instrumental games success have absolutely nothing to do with replicating decade old guirar work, and the stage presence of long gone bands, is totally irrelivent. The gaming market is in the youth, and the youth do not appreciate bands nor are they interested in recreating their music in their free time. Although i think my chemical romance is a sad excuse for a band, they are an extremely successful artist and would do nothing but help drive sales, not kill it. Many modern artist have reached the pinnacle of ability that hendrix has, because your knowledge doesnt superceed MTV or your local mainstream radio station doesnt mean you know modern music. Guitar hero games have had a more then fair share of classic rock, and its time for a new direction i say, or at least a more diverse one. If it was up to me, honestly i would drop rock all together and have a more metal/progressive theme.

The last time I watched MTV was like 10 years ago, which is also incidentally the last time they played anything not rap on the station. I think you don't pay attention to things friend. I'm one of these weird people that respects music and people who strive for originality in their work. Also haven't listened to the radio willfully in a long time, as I tend to find the best artists are people who aren't under the pressure of, alright we need 5 more songs or our record deal won't fall through. But yes, I'm uninformed and know nothing of modern music. The truth is even underground, good moderns are few and far between, even though Guitar Hero does try to expose some of them. The Slip featured in GH1 is actually a really talented band with depth. But no, I know nothing of what I talk about. You showed me.

You have completely strayed from your original argument at the attempt of trying to be clever by picking apart a few sentences of my post. Obviously, if i alert you that theres music other then whats on the radio, that would imply to most that what i listen to is not found there. So why your trying to tell someone who listens to nothing but underground(albeit its metal/hardcore/technical/death/grind/black), about underground confuses me.

Is this argument about musical knowledge, or what would be more successful in either of the upcomming rythm games?

Seriously, i dont have a ps3, but why the heck does it matter at all? Tv is either 23 or 24 fps depending on where you come from, 30 is +6 that min. Do you ever complain about tv shows not being fluid enough or being choppy?

Although, if its not locked at 30, then i completely understand going with 360, but if its locked at 30 i would say ps3 is the better way to go because its free online, and more online opponents.
