Have you been using a proxy or a different IP address on your laptop? Since Pokecheck uses IP to track uploaded pokemon, make sure the IP your DS and your laptop use are the same. Other than that I've no idea why your uploading doesn't work. I also don't know why you lose connection immediately when you're trying to register, but if you've only tried once, try it again.
