I sincerely hope that for the majority of people out there (I'm looking at YOU, fellow Gamespotters!) this news won't make one ounce of a difference. I mean, come on... an over-priced system, from a company that's famous for 1st-generation defects, coupled with ZERO interesting launch software. Why on earth would anyone want this system at launch? Status? Fan behavior? There isn't one must-have launch title. You know what sounds like much more fun? Getting some buds together, having dinner, catching a movie (James Bond?), then hangin out at Walmart, Target, (your choice) for a few hours...picking up a brand-new Wii, an extra controller, Zelda, maybe a few other games...then going home and playing something NEW and realizing that even though you just dropped some serious change, you still didn't spend ANYWHERE near $600 for just a console by itself. $600 for a console? $60 games? I don't think so...

I would hope that ANYONE thinking of spending $500+ on a video game console isn't so flippant with their money. Assuming that people who really, really want a PlayStation 3 will just 'up and change' their minds because they can't find one in stock the first day is slightly ludicrous. If I goto a vending machine and I want a Coke...and let's say that this machine is all out of Coke... I'll go down the line...maybe get a Sprite? But we're talking 75 CENTS here...a dollar tops. If I have my heart and mind set on spending nearly 500+ bucks on a video game system, I'm hardly going to substitute another system on the fly...and if I did I should be medicated. This delay means nothing for me. NOTHING Sony has proposed or assumed in the public eye has interested me so far, and there isn't one single launch game that I 'need' to play on Day One. I've held off on the 360 for similar reasons...that is, a genuine lack of quality titles, and with the average game approaching $60+...well, I don't think so. Lemme repeat that: $60+ for a game is absolutely, positively INSANE. Come this holiday season, it's the Wii all the way, baby. Launch titles that look great, seem like they're actually fun, and everyone seems to agree will provide a new experience. Oh, and at 1/3 the price. Nintendo just seems to be doing everything right...the good news just can't stop coming. best of luck for all consoles, though...lord knows this industry needs competition.
