It won't happen but that would be a kick in the face to alot of the people defending KZ2's sales lol.

ogvampire

I think it can easily outprofit KZ2 considering KZ2's $60 million budget. It would only need about a tenth of its sales.

nah, people will just point to the fact that the Wii's userbase is more than twice as big as the ps3's userbase

What does that mean to the publisher though? Not much. This isn't about bragging rights. It's about developers finding financial success in their endeavors and it spurring on further development in the future.

Would be nice to see it outsell ANY of the PS3/360 action/shooters honestly. Not because it's an amazing game, but because of the 3rd party support it might bring to the Wii.

Giancar

Can't do any worst than Bionic Commando, which sold 13 k on the 360 and PS3 combined last month

and BC deserved that...Heck even Re5 didn't deserve the sales it got...IMO!

BC was a fairly big budget game from an AAA publisher. Those sales are incredibly low.

It would be interesting too see The Conduit outsell a juggernaut like Killzone 2.

[QUOTE="Giancar"] mediocre games selling great of course hurt the industry... I'm not saying the Conduit is a 100% bad game. I haven't played the game, and neither plan to do so. But it's fun to watch some people to cheer up for sales and compare it directly to a quality one (there are still better fps than kz2, but nobody can deny the bog achievment they got, specially when you compare with the first game)Giancar

All it will do is encourage more core games on the Wii. How is this bad for the industry?

there are better games that you could hype to sell great...LKS for example the conduit, from what I've seen....not at all

Why because LKS's Gamerankings average is like .5 higher? Who cares. The Conduit is a solid game with good online and a true effort from a small developer to bring an exclusive core game to the Wii from the ground up. If anything, it will encourage more fps on the Wii. A genre that is lacking on the console. The fact that you're somehow acting like this game will somehow bring more bad games to the Wii is completely unjustified. I can see if it were the latest Hannah Montanah game selling great on the Wii, but The Conduit?

[QUOTE="Giancar"]lol, hyping sales over quality.... go for it! :DGiancar

A mediocore game selling well never hurt anyone. I'm still in awe that people want games to sell bad. (I only want SE lazy games to sell bad because Its apparent they don'tt even try)

Mediocregame with half the sales of a superb one = yay !!! Victory is ours.

Nike_Air

If The Conduit even sells decently, it will bea victory for HVS and the future of core games on the Wii in general.

If this game sells even half of what Killzone 2 did in its first month, it will be a HUGE victory for HVS considering KZ2's $60 million budget was over 10 times higher.

[QUOTE="redfordo"]Review scores have always been secondary issue in this thread which only becomes amplified when taking into consideration my main problem with Gamespot, which is that they have clearly made Wii reviews less of a priority than games on the other consoles - often reviewing Wii titles days to weeks later than their HD brethren if not missing them altogether. It is Gamespot's obligation to prove to the Wii readership of this board that this does not indicate bias against their console. I would also like them to explain to us why this is happening, and what measures they are taking to prevent this from happening in the futureSoraX64
Look, I'm a Nintendo fan, I only own a Wii as far as current generation consoles go, and even I have to say, the Wii does not have many titles at all worth reviewing. If GS did review more of the Wii games that came out, we would just be seeing 3's and 4's all around. At the end of the day, I don't think it really matters what the reviewers of GS think, because I listen more to other people like me anyway. I do agree; a lot of Wii games go unreviewed. But there are a lot of games that shouldn't be reviewed because people would either A) ignore it because they would never play a game like that or B) complain about it because they are one of the minority that like the game (Like I was with Kirby AirRide for the Gamecube). I don't really know where else to go with this, partly because I can't answer your questions as I am not a staff member and partly because it is almost 1 in the morning. :P I don't want to argue, so I'm going to just leave it here. Sorry to trouble you.

Not a problem. Glad to here some feedback from other members, even if it's an opposing viewpoint . I can only disagree regarding the quality of the reviews being missed. Anno, Rune Factory, PES 09, Rock Band 2 ect. are all solid titles that are absolutely worthy of reviews. Infact, most of the titles I listed are scoring AA on other sites. A lot of people in this thread are actually complaining that Gamespot has chosen not to review these titles as opposed to other games of lesser quality. I think every game that surpasses the definition of shovelware is entitled to a review. I also think we should hold Gamespot accountable to a high standard in terms of their reviews, and they really shouldn't have it any other way. The fact that we can look elsewhere for our reviews is irrelevant to my point as we are all members of this board.

Is that first day or first week sales?
