@Disturbed_88

The politics is not that difficult to work out, by the way - most things not explained during the game by your advisors, ARE explained very effectively in the Encyclopaedia. The Encyclopaedia is the go to resource for all that you require in game. I do think that klaypex777's review is a little harsh and would personally say that Thereisnotri's review is more subjective and accurate. My sincere apologies klaypex777, if I have somehow offended by writing that.

I play both Rome II and Civ5:BNW. I must say that I prefer the TW way of doing things as it is much deeper than BNW's. Politics for instance, or daughters, or spies, all these things and more are much deeper and are more useful in Rome II than in Civ5:BNW. In fact, the lack of being able to recruit spies when I want to recruit them, gets to me in Civ5:BNW. I think I've been spoiled by TW on that front. The games are quite different from each other, though, and yes, I do like BNW and am a fan.

I do suggest you give Rome II a try, but please keep in mind that a game of such scope will take time to be perfected. After all, Civ5 didn't reach it's potential until BNW came on the scene.

@Thereisnotri - Very well put.

Prologue (training) campaign - there aren't three victory points... If you play it successfully, the battle of Capua ends with Consul whats-his-face alive and well and a successful battle ending sequence. Then you go to the campaign part of the tutorial. I'm thinking that maybe you haven't done the 'look in three places' or the 'fight in three disparate places' parts. It worked fine for me, with no bugs or glitches, and I finished the battle for Capua bit without there being three victory points present. I did, however, follow the instructions to the letter even though this is far from my first play of a TW game.

Graphics - it's not your rig, Thereisnotri, if what you're referring to is what I can best describe as being the 'granular' appearance of the graphics. It's that or both our rigs have the same problem! I've got everything on Ultra and the graphics look, well, 'granular', and don't look at all like the pre-release screenshots. I think it looks like that because that was the only way of getting so many units on the battlefield at once, graphical performance-wise, and the 'look' would have to remain the same in the Campaign Map otherwise people would comment on the marked difference.

CA are, for the immediate future, going to be releasing patches on a weekly basis and have stated that they will continue to proactively monitor the community and fix issues discovered for some time to come. So, how quickly the game's bugs/fixes/optimisations, etc. are fixed, well, who knows... Sometimes, a fix has been known to break something else. I think a safe period would be to wait until CA release an expansion, not paid-for DLC, but an expansion proper. At the very least, you'll probably get the game cheaper, with the majority of problems fixed and, as with most expansions, you'll also probably get some enhancements to the game-play and/or substantial additions to the game world.
