Although I'd agree that RE4 has had a poor legacy on survival horror and the Resident Evil series itself I would argue that it has had a great legacy on third person shooters. It pretty much made over the shoulder camera the standard for the genre, even Cliffy B admitted that for Gears of War they lifted the camera from RE4

I'd never thought I'd see the day when they release a Resident Evil game that's almost as appalling as the Resident Evil films

Well there goes all my interest in insomniac games

I'm not saying the Resident Evil 6 demo was good but I fail to see how it was any worse than any of the other demos, virtually every game at every conference so far has just been cover shooters and QTEs
