the reason HL3 (or HL2 EP3) has not come out is most likely due to valve completely rebuilding the steam engine to compete with the new generation of games coming out this year and next. They (valve press and Gabe himself) have mentioned that it has been a huge project for the company and its time consuming. I cannot imagine them not making HL3 once the new steam engine has been finished.
I agree with Brown on some of the hardware spec issues. USB 3.0 has been on the market for some time and could have easily been implemented into the console. and the loading times on the WiiU initially seem exausting but after getting used to it, it's not bad at all (is it just me or does it seem to run faster overall after using it for a week or 2?)
Despite that however, it's pretty innovative. The TV control function is just awesome. I feel like that has been in the back of every developers head for some time, and Nintendo finally got around to doing it (NOTE: would not be surprised if sony and microsoft's next gen's do the same thing). The ability to do anything on both screens is also pretty amazing. You can lie in bed and play super mario, or watch netflix! The gamepad is also quite a nice controller as it is, not much of a learning curve there and its pretty comfortable
my only real complaints would be the storage space issue which I feel like will eventually become a problem, then again you can expand the storage with an SD so thats not so bad. I mean the 360 has a 250gb hard drive which is massive as it is. Also, I would have expected the wii U gamepad to be able to use original wii games (not necessarily the screen but using the gamepad as the controller would be nice), and i'm hoping some patch comes along in the near future that allows that ability.
