Excellent interview Mike, you captured Swen's love for creating gameplay environments that are compelling, fun to play, and provide many solutions to problems the player comes across in the game. I have always loved the role play skits he does around each of the games Larian has developed. It must have been great fun to interview him. He comes across as genuinely interesting, intelligent, and enjoyable.
A bit off topic, but Mike, where is gravehoppers? That was a great show. I hope you are continuing it. The premise is very compelling and the tension can be pretty hilarious. Anyway, hope to see more episodes.
As for Odyssey and Origins, I've played Origins but not Odyssey as of yet. I enjoyed the stealth combat in Origins but wasn't a great fan of the forced combat scenarios. Still am unsure about trying Odyssey although there are some aspects I've seen which are very attractive, such as the lore and exploration.
So, are you guys offended by the words "take out" rather than "take away"? Somehow, that seems an innocuous turn of phrase to me, but maybe it was insensitive in some way. Love the seemingly impromptu analysis which you include after some of the news segments. This is truly the most enjoyable regular feature on Gamespot.
@nocny007: The Front facing camera on the Vive only activates when you approach the boundary of your play space. The Rift has no front facing camera, so you will not get the same visual overlay of the room that the Vive's camera provides.
The Rift does use cameras to track the head mounted display, so it could provide a third person view of where you are at when you approach room boundaries, but I don't know if that is implemented in the Rift system. It might be a bit confusing to have yourself suddenly pop into view if you approach the play area boundary, though.
The Elder Scrolls Online update allows all characters to go to any zone by scaling the character level to the maximum rather than scaling the zone to the character level. It's a bit of semantics, but all zones are now level 50 CP160, so even new characters are auto leveled to the max (although the real level still starts at 1 and progresses as you earn experience). Because characters don't have many skills when starting out, the health, stamina, and magica pools are inflated to improve survivability of lower level characters.
