I read that quote as well and wondered how he could be so ignorant. A quick web search revealed that he really did mean it in the way the it sounds: he's ripping games as trash and claims that they are isolating factors. Ironic, though, that gamers who are supposedly isolated from one another are discussing his comments together. Sounds like something of a socializing influence to me.
