@mwewerka:I'm not fueling it with hate, I'm fueling what is considered fair game. GTA in particular is a series that is not just about the open world or it's story and characters (cause to be honest, there a sh*t ton of games that do all of that whether it be for better or worse now-a-days), but is know for the creative freadom that is given to modders. OpenIV was one of the most essencial tools for mods within GTA right now and all of a sudden for it to be taken away is too fishy to be just because of what Take-Two stated. Take-two made a huge mistake, because they accused the modding comunity of making "hax" when in reality they have nothing to show if any of that is true, as well as it doesn't make enough sense for this type of action to even be justified. If their intention was to stop "hax" from being made, then why an instant cease and desist? why couldn't they just contact the OpenIV crew directly and figure out a way to fix the problem without causing a major incident. The answer is because they couldn't in any other way, they obviously saw mods a a threat to their GTA online scam, cause at thei moment, people are starting to discover mods such as FiveM and that they can use mods there, which make GTA online irelevant when you think about how people can actually polish a game into something better, plus making it completely free. But this is a just a guess for the reason, but the fact is that they attacked the modding community with a very weak accusation that doesn't have any proof to it, and what these steam reviews are doing might not be enough to make a dent in their sales, since everything comes from their microtransactions in game now.
Honestly, someone should just organize a massive non-play protest till take-two just admits their wrong, cause at this point everyone probably has a copy of Gta 5 thus their sole revenue comes from online play, so what better way to say "f*ck you" then to just stop playing
@killercondoms: Hard to miss, but easy to forget, especially since Zenimax technically doesn't do anything outside of managing their other major company Bethesda, which does most of the work, so people tend to confuse the two from time to time
@captnforever: Well... technically I'd say that he is partially true, cause Zenimax isn't advertised as well as say Bethesda and thus everyone associates more with Bethesda then Zenimax. Same is with 2k games and Take-two interactive, the latter of which is the formers parent company. We only know about Zenimax just because of stuff like this
@beantownsean: Code can be an idea aswell, they can't target VR as an idea, but they can target code-based solutions to VR systems, which they're probably doing
@spaced92: If they just "smelled" the money, then they would have withdrawn their allegations, they might actually win this if they're so certain on winning
@barcaazul: Could be jelousy on Zenimax's s part, but Facebook is an industry giant, so the fact that Zenimax is demanding this kind of money isn't surprising and should be expected seeing as Facebook should have the money if they can just buyout Oculus for 2 bill and invest even more into VR
